Earth Day Poster

The Earth Day poster was challenging because I knew I wanted to approach it differently; after dawdling around and getting nowhere, I finally decided to do a collage-- I love them when they're done well, but I'm often skeptical of my own ability to create a purposeful composition from bits and pieces.

But.

I think I did it! I'm not totally finished yet, as right now it doesn't include any information about the day (which I think might be necessary... just the date at least). But I'm very pleased with what some thrift-store finds in the book section lent me (a nature photography book, a book on Picasso, and a children's book about whales- that one didn't make the cut), in addition to a few finds at home: an old Taschen magazine, as well as a three-year old Vogue (really, it was time to say goodbye.)
